Results of B0s → CP eigenstates at Belle

    Get PDF
We report the measurement of the absolute branching fraction for B0s → J/ψ φ, for B0s → J/ψ K+K− and a determination of the s-wave contribution in the φ mass range as well as a first observation of B0s → J/ψ η and B0s → J/ψ η'. These results are based on a 121 fb−1 data sample collected with the Belle detector at the KEK-B asymmetric e+e− collider near the Υ(5S) resonance

Averages of bb-hadron, cc-hadron, and τ\tau-lepton properties as of summer 2014

This article reports world averages of measurements of bb-hadron, cc-hadron, and τ\tau-lepton properties obtained by the Heavy Flavor Averaging Group (HFAG) using results available through summer 2014. For the averaging, common input parameters used in the various analyses are adjusted (rescaled) to common values, and known correlations are taken into account. The averages include branching fractions, lifetimes, neutral meson mixing parameters, CPCP violation parameters, parameters of semileptonic decays and CKM matrix elements.Comment: 436 pages, many figures and tables. Measurements of time-dependent CP asymmetries in BDπ±B \to D^{*\mp} \pi^{\pm} decays using a partial reconstruction technique

We report results on time-dependent CP asymmetries in BDπ±B \to D^{*\mp}\pi^{\pm} decays based on a data sample containing 657 {\times} 10610^6 BBˉB\bar{B} pairs collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+ee^+ e^- collider at the Υ(4S)\Upsilon(4S) resonance. We use a partial reconstruction technique, wherein signal BDπ±B \to D^{*\mp}\pi^{\pm} events are identified using information only from the fast pion from the B decay and the slow pion from the subsequent decay of the DD^{*\mp}, where the former (latter) corresponds to D+(D)D^{*+} (D^{*-}) final states. We obtain CP violation parameters S+=+0.061±0.018(stat)±0.012(syst)S^+ = +0.061 \pm 0.018(\mathrm{stat}) \pm 0.012(\mathrm{syst}) and S=+0.031±0.019(stat)±0.015(syst)S^- = +0.031 \pm 0.019(\mathrm{stat}) \pm 0.015(\mathrm{syst}).Comment: 8 pages, 5 figures, 2 tables, submitted to Physical Review D (RC

Dalitz analysis of B --> K pi psi' decays and the Z(4430)+

From a Dalitz plot analysis of B --> K pi psi' decays, we find a signal for Z(4430)+ --> pi+ psi' with a mass M= (4443(+15-12)(+19-13))MeV/c^2, width Gamma= (107(+86-43)(+74-56))MeV, product branching fraction BR(B0 --> K- Z(4430)+) x BR(Z(4430)+ --> pi+ psi')= (3.2(+1.8-0.9)(+5.3-1.6)) x 10^{-5}, and significance of 6.4sigma that agrees with previous Belle measurements based on the same data sample. In addition, we determine the branching fraction BR(B^0 --> K*(892)^0 psi')= (5.52(+0.35-0.32)(+0.53-0.58)) x 10^{-4} and the fraction of K*(892)^0 mesons that are longitudinally polarized f_L= 44.8(+4.0-2.7)(+4.0-5.3)%. These results are obtained from a 605fb^{-1} data sample that contains 657 million B-anti-B pairs collected near the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric energy e+e- collider.Comment: Final version published in PRD(RC

First Measurement of Inclusive B -> X_s eta Decays

We report a first measurement of inclusive B -> X_s eta decays, where X_s is a charmless state with unit strangeness. The measurement is based on a pseudo-inclusive reconstruction technique and uses a sample of 657 x 10^6 BB-bar pairs accumulated with the Belle detector at the KEKB e^+e^- collider. For M_{X_s} < 2.6 GeV/c^2, we measure a branching fraction of (26.1 +/- 3.0 (stat) +1.9 -2.1 (syst) +4.0 -7.1 (model)) x 10^-5 and a direct CP asymmetry of A_{CP} = -0.13 +/- 0.04 +0.02 -0.03. Over half of the signal occurs in the range M_{X_s} > 1.8 GeV/c^2.Comment: 6 pages, 1 figure, 1 table, submitted to Physical Review Letter
